Job Description:

Must be EPA Universal Certified for Refrigeration Gas Recovery, Master HVACR State Licensed and must maintain certification / licensed.  Performs skilled technical duties to operate, regulate, maintain and repair:  steam and/or hot water boilers, heating and air conditioning systems, cooling towers, pumps, air compressors, ice machines, lubrication and associated equipment.  Knowledge of various computerized energy management systems in buildings which are supported by computerized heating and cooling systems.  Performs other related duties as assigned.  Such as but not limited to minor plumbing repairs, install and remove system furniture components, minor carpentry & painting.  Individual may have to work in lower job classification at times.



Minimum of 5 years Commercial/Residential HVAC experience.  EPA Universal Certification for Refrigeration Gas Recovery, Master HVACR Licensed, and must maintain certificate / license.  Working experience performing the following:  Building maintenance and repair; Mechanical operations on heating and air conditioning systems; Maintenance of heating and air conditioning systems; Repair of heating and air conditioning systems, and Electrical control devices of a large building or plant facility to program and monitor systems.  Completion of an approved technical training program in the installation, repair and maintenance of HVAC or refrigeration equipment OR the equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.  Knowledge of the HVAC, refrigerating tools, materials and test equipment.  Experience demonstrating skill operating (e.g. equipment, hand tools, computers, diagnostic hardware, measurement and testing instruments to perform work).  Experience demonstrating skill reading and understanding complex blueprints, piping, sketches, schematics and wiring diagrams.  Experience demonstrating skill working from sketches, blueprints and oral/written instructions to make repairs and adjustments on electric, pneumatic and electronic control devices, steam and/or hot water boilers and pumps.  Ability and willingness to work non-standard and extended hours, rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, on call, and during system emergencies, as required.  Ability and willingness to perform a second role in accordance with Company Emergency Preparedness Guidelines for all employees. 

A copy of your EPA Universal Certification for Gas Recovery and Master HVACR State License must be included along with your resume and/or application in order to be considered for this position.  Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.  Must successfully pass a Criminal History Background Check which consists of a 7-year criminal records check for felony convictions.  Must successfully pass a Medical Screening to include a Drug Test. 


Experience with programming and troubling shooting Building Automation Systems (BAS).  Experience demonstrating skill monitoring on daily basis all heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems and making any necessary adjustments.  Experience demonstrating skill requisitioning materials and supplies from stockroom; calling vendors to discuss needs for parts and supplies; and, recommending purchases and suppliers.  Experience demonstrating skill monitoring alarms and follows up on system failures.
